“LIKE STRAWBERRIES AND CREAM, THE TICKET RESALE SCHEME IS A WELL-ESTABLISHED WIMBLEDON TRADITION, A TRADITION THAT’S MAKING A DIFFERENCE TO THE LIVES OF MANY IN THE LOCAL COMMUNITY AND FURTHER AFIELD.”

I was tasked with creating a video to showcase what HSBC’s part in Wimbledon is, keeping in mind their new brand positioning: Together We Thrive. I wondered, what is the story to tell? As it turns out, the resale ticket scheme. Many people don’t know that (apart from providing on-site ATMs to the tennis-goers) HSBC is behind the famous resale ticket scheme at Wimbledon. When ticket holders leave the grounds they can drop their unusued (or half used) ticket in a red box to be picked up and resold for nothing compared to the original price. So thanks to HSBC, a lot of people get to enjoy a big match with the most famous tennis players in the world, and the proceeds go to kids in the local tennis clubs who get the funding they need to keep on playing their favourite sport. Together, they all thrive.
