How do we make food storage more appealing to a market that doesn’t do leftovers?

The leftover culture is not that widespread in the middle east region, with some of the highest rates of food waste in the world. For example, taking leftover food from a restaurant dinner is not a common occurrence so it was an opportunity for GLAD to teach people on the benefits of food storage.
Idea one was a campaign called “Seal in the love”. With the majority of our target audience being moms who are always on the lookout for new food ideas, we wanted to create a platform for moms and others to share food storage tips and leftover recipes as there was no other source of information, at least online, in the region.
Idea two was a movement we wanted to start called “Wasteless Wednesdays” . By using social media and developing a website that would act as our hub and platform for the movement, we would post information to teach people about food storage through insightful tips, recipes and how-to videos. Everyone loves a movement they can relate to!
